From Isolate
Sample preparation for the LifeScale-AST for samples direct from positive blood culture should take less than 5 minutes and is achieved using standard broth microdilution techniques and the LifeScale-AST kit.
| Touch 3-5 colonies from a blood agar plate and suspend in 5 ml of sterile saline |

| Vortex the sample for 30 sec. |

| Take 1 ml of inoculum and add it to the 12.5ml vial of growth media from the LifeScale-AST kit. The LifeScale-AST will determine the bacterial load, dilute the inoculum to 4.5x105, and inoculate the well plate. |
